Heat input in our Alloy Steel P12 Welded Pipes should also be low enough that the total time for the HAZ in the 1300 Degree F – 1800 Degree F range will not be sufficient for precipitation of intermetallic phases. Post – weld cleaning by chemical or mechanical plus chemical means for removal of heat tint, weld spatter, or another contamination is strongly recommended for these Alloy Steel P12 EFW Pipes. Welding procedures in our Alloy Steel P12 ERW Pipes should be qualified for primary welds and permitted repairs, using tests such as those in ASTM standard for qualification. Welding should be performed only by welders qualified for these Alloy Steel P12 Round Pipes, where such treatment applies to both solution annealing and stress relieving. The presence of hydrogen sulphide in a chloride solution of our Alloy Steel P12 Square Pipes, will often increase its stress corrosion – promoting capability, resulting in what is known as hydrogen or sulphide stress cracking (SSC).
